Our Stay at Encore Resort

We recently ventured back to one of our favorite places – DISNEY! We partnered with Encore Resort for a 4-night stay. Firstly, the location is ideal for Disney and Universal, although this trip we only went to Disney. From the resort the drive is about 10 minutes to the parks depending which park and the time of day.

The drive from the airport is pretty quick too which is always good depending on the quality of flight you have just arrived on. Upon arrival (around noon) we checked in at the main desk to be told our house was still being cleaned, so we set up at a cabana by the pool to enjoy the sunshine.

The cabana set up is great, with a fridge, safe, tv, nice seating and extra loungers, so it was perfect for relaxing for a few hours and providing a napping location for Jayne after she had run wild through the water park. The water park is so much fun with slides for all ages, including one where you climb into a capsule and the floor falls away sending you on a close to vertical drop!(FYI I did not try that slide LOL) There is a standard swimming pool as well which was kept warm so was a great follow up to splashing around the slides.

There is a poolside food and drink service, which was convenient while we were waiting for our house to be ready. I preferred the restaurant upstairs, Fins, inside the main building where the food is great and not unreasonably priced.

The house was ready at 4pm. It was awesome, super spacious, very clean and great to make you feel somewhat at home while away. One of the highlights was the Star Wars themed game room with iconic arcade games including Street Fighter, PacMan and Sonic.

There were plenty of bedrooms! The master is on the ground level with a really nice en suite, perfect for relaxing, with one more bedroom on the ground level and 3 king rooms upstairs and 3 rooms with 2 single beds, colorful and perfect for kids.

The best thing about renting a house for any vacation is the convenience it provides as you can load up on home essentials. There is a Walmart close by, but on this occasion we had groceries delivered from Publix to cover breakfast and lunch each day, as well as loading up on some toiletries. The absolute highlight of Encore offerings was the private chef experience with the amazing Brian Greene. The first night Brian arrived with his supplies and set to work preparing the most delicious (beyond delicious!!) meal of salads and stuffed Portobello mushroom. You can request any type of cuisine, with Brian saying he had cooked surf and turf the night before.

The second dinner Brian cooked for us was an amazing potato gnocchi dish. The desserts on both nights were amazing – salted caramel cheesecake and chocolate brownie, and both kids were taken care of with mac and cheese. Wine was also provided and the dinner was full service from table setting to clean up. (Can't get any better than that!! Am I right?!!!)

Encore provides a shuttle bus to and from the parks a few times a day!

The grounds themselves are great with multiple outdoor areas for basketball, beach volleyball and a playground. The main building is conveniently located and has a small store providing all essentials and ice cream.(Jayne literally asked to get ice cream everyday LOL)

There is a gym on-site that definitely serves its purpose and there is a kids club where you can actually pay to take advantage of a fully supervised service or you can just join your children inside escaping the sun for an hour or so :)

A few things to watch out for were the $40/day pool/jacuzzi heating charge, which depending what time of year you go may need to be forked out to make use of your own private pool.(we did decide to heat our pool and it was definitely worth it as I love using the Jacuzzi whenever there is one and I need it to be HOT!)

Ultimately, Encore is a GREAT option for visiting Orlando, as you get all the convenience of being at home with a few little bits of something special. It really is super convenient to visit the parks! Having been to Disney at least 25 times and 3 times since Jayne arrived, I have experience of mostly all the different ways you can experience your Disney stay and I would honestly say that especially with Jayne by far Encore Resort has been the BEST place to stay!
