For everything else going on at this time of year, December is a month where I watch more films than the rest of the year combined. Whether it is the cold outside or the awesome selection of Christmas favorites on, it is a month of movies, many of which I have watched many times before. There is a magic of Christmas films in that not only are they a perfect form of escapism but also create traditions, and family moments.
My husband has watched the same film every Christmas Eve for as long as he can remember, and has brought that tradition with him, so the start of every Christmas is now anchored with The Muppets for me too!
Every year we have embarked on the discussion of the best Christmas film, with plenty of disagreement, so we each compiled our top 5 to submit to the world and see what the y'all thought. After some discussion, we also agreed that the films had to be Christmas themed, based on my husband’s bizarre insistence that Zulu and Indiana Jones are Christmas films (must be a British thing).
What is clear is that The Fryer household holds the Muppets as the Christmas movie standard and you can guarantee before bed on Christmas Eve, we will be introducing Jayne to our very special Christmas tradition. After all ‘tis the season to be jolly and joyous, so to all enjoy these films or your own favorites and let me know any I’ve missed!
